Causes of Feline Lymphoma

Feline lymphoma is placed in three categories; alimentary lymphoma, mediastinal lymphoma, and multi-centric lymphoma.  Each of these types of lymphoma presents a different set of symptoms.  It is essential to know the fundamental symptoms and warning signs of the disease in order to identify the type of feline lymphoma present in an afflicted cat. 

Clinical signs of feline lymphoma include diarrhea, lethargy, swollen lymph nodes, anemia, inappetance, pale gums, and difficulty breathing.

Alimentary lymphoma is most commonly associated with cancer of the digestive system organs.  This type of lymphoma is characterized by signs of vomiting, excessive thirst and resulting excessive urination, anorexia, lethargy, and weakness.

Mediastinal lymphoma occurs in the trachea, chest cavity, heart, and esophagus.  The appearance of symptoms observed in this type of cancer lead to episodes of breathing difficulty and inability to exercise.
